WHY ARE YOU SILENT? 2

WHY ARE YOU SILENT? 2

Text: John 4:27-34
Memory verse:
“redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I have read articles and watched documentaries of some animals alerting the rest of them of the danger they had escaped. One interesting one was the monkey who forcefully pulled the other monkeys down, one after another, from climbing a pole with a bunch of bananas hanging on it. The monkey had experienced being drenched with cold water as it tried to reach the bananas, and so, didn’t want other new and ignorant monkeys to have such unpleasant experience.
Then, why will a believer who has escaped condemnation and eternal death not be excited about telling others to escape?
Some just choose not to speak because they think they may still have better opportunities to do that in the future.
Most of us have experienced having met someone whom we were convinced to share the gospel with, which we postponed to do until we later heard of the sudden death of the person. I met a rich landowner a few years ago.Though religious, I knew he had not been saved. He looked feeble and sickly, but that seemed not to be important to him as much as making more money. Since we were with him for business, I felt it wouldn’t be right to discuss salvation with him at that time. I thought within me that I would visit him later at home to do that. After about an hour together, while we were about to depart, I managed to introduce the salvation message to him and concluded within me that I would explain better when I saw him in a few days. A few days later, I was told that he had been admitted to the hospital, and the next news I heard was that he was gone! I felt guilty that I didn’t fully deliver the message. Ephesians 5:16 tells us to always seize every opportunity. “..making the very most of your time [on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence], because the days are [filled with] evil.” (AMP).
Every opportunity should be seen as the right time and the day of salvation. “preach the word [as an official messenger]; be ready when the time is right and even when it is not [keep your sense of urgency, whether the opportunity seems favorable or unfavorable, whether convenient or inconvenient, whether welcome or unwelcome];…” (2 Tim 4:2).
Friends, don’t postpone sharing of the good news and thus wasting today again.

Prayer points
1. Father, please forgive me for every opportunity I have wasted to share the good news in Jesus’ name.
2. Father, please put in me a sense of urgency to preach and to maximize every opportunity in Jesus’ name.

Today’s declarations
1. I look for every opportunity to share the good news in every conversation, be it business or casual.
2. I have wasted enough opportunities in the past, so I don’t want to live in guilt anymore.
