Text: John 11:41-44
Memory verse:
”Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.“ ‭‭
John‬ ‭11‬:‭41‬ NJKV

The faith of a farmer causes him to sing as he returns home after sowing his seed. The faith of a warrior triggers resounding thanksgiving before the battle is fought. Faith gives thanks to God for the answer before ever receiving it. This was what Jesus did at the tomb of Lazarus before the miracle.
”… And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.“ ‭‭(John‬ ‭11‬:‭41‬).
The working of the miracle was preceded by His thanksgiving. Every miracle is a demonstration of the power of the Almighty, but the power is released in proportion to our faith. Thus, great faith was demonstrated when Jesus offered thanksgiving and God’s power was released.
Thanksgiving was really the foundation of the miracle. Thanksgiving was the principal thing and not the order that He gave for Lazarus to rise up. There was nothing extra ordinary about the order except that it was accompanied by power.
It was a hopeless situation (John 11:39). It was a hopeless situation. It takes the power of God to reverse such irreversible damage. Does your case look irreversible, too? Does it look like a closed chapter. Don’t accept ‘No’ as an answer. Rather, begin to engage the mystery of thanksgiving. This mystery is only available to givers of thanks.
Thanksgiving is a potent spiritual tool, especially for the working of miracles. ‘Thank You’ brought Lazarus out of the grave. Thanksgiving invoked the anointing, so He didn’t need to beg or ask but simply demanded that Lazarus should come out. That anointing broke the yoke of death and shattered the prison gate (Isa 10:27: Acts 10:38). Every new challenge requires fresh anointing. Thanksgiving provokes fresh anointing (Psa 92:1, 10). When thanksgiving becomes your lifestyle and not an occasional activity, then you will never lack fresh anointing. Thanksgiving gives you sweatless victories over the battles of life. Miracles come cheaply to addicted ‘thanksgivers’. They don’t only give thanks for what God did in the past, but they give thanks in advance. Friends, there is no greater way to demonstrate your faith than to give thanks generously and joyfully for answers that you haven’t yet received as if you already have them.

Prayer points
1. Intentionally, generously, and joyfully thank God for what you are expecting from Him.
2. Ask God to fill you with the Spirit of thanksgiving, like it was in Jesus.

Today’s declarations
1. Thankful people have sweatless victories in the battles of life.
2. I put my faith into action by thanking God in advance for what I haven’t received as though I have them already.
