Text: Genesis 2:15-25
Memory verse:
“Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.” (‭‭I Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭7‬)

Some men wonder why their wives seem not to show so much interest in their work or business as much as they do. Men are created to be labour oriented while women are relationship driven. Although, the wife shows some interest in your work or career but she is much more interested in the relationship she shares with you.
The first appearance of a woman in the story of creation is as a wife. This is relationship. No wonder she considers it as more important. What about the man? His first appearance was as a keeper and tender of the garden. This is labour? This is why men will always want to talk about career, achievements or business.
But should this create a divide between the husband and wife? No, in fact God’s blessing came in the unity. You see also through the Scriptures that God’s blessing is attracted to unity. In the story of creation, it reads, “…male and female He created them. Then God blessed them…” ‭‭(Gen‬ ‭1‬:‭27‬-‭28‬). It didn’t say ‘God blessed him’ but “God blessed them”. The blessing didn’t come in disunity. Our Lord Jesus also sent His disciples out in twos. “… and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits.” ‭‭(Mark‬ ‭6‬:‭7‬). The power came in unity not in division. In the epistle, it is also written, “…she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.” ‭‭(1 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭7‬ ‭NLT). The phrases, “joint heirs” and “equal partner” imply unity. Therefore, as a man, it is required that you relate with your wife with understanding. Your relationship with your wife shouldn’t suffer because of your work. Working in disunity will cause your prayer to be hindered or interrupted. It will disturb the flow of blessing into your life and work. Grow your relationship with your wife. Patiently get her involved at the start and at the peak of your business to maintain your success.

Prayer points
1. Father, please restore unity in homes where there is disunity in Jesus name.
2. Father, let me never be an agent of disunity in my family or any other in Jesus name.

Today’s declarations
1. I won’t hinder my blessing and shut my heaven by working in disunity.
2. Many men struggle and fail at work because they don’t treat their wives as equal partners.
